Einosuke (Eddie) Sumitani
Representative Director
Born in Wakayama prefecture in 1943 and raised in Osaka, Einosuke Sumitani graduated from Keio University Faculty of Commerce in 1965. He joined WDI Inc. (now WDI Corporation) at the time of its founding in 1969 and served as President and Representative Director from 2000 to 2003, opening a variety of American and western restaurant franchises in Japan throughout his career.
Sumitani established KCJ GROUP Inc. (KidZania Japan) in 2004, and as its first President and CEO, went on to open KidZania Tokyo in 2006 and KidZania Koshien in 2009. He currently serves as Honorary Chairman.
Sumitani established the Prometheus Foundation in 2019 and is currently the Representative Director. Prometheus Foundation opened Global Village Yurakucho House in October 2023 with the goal of inspiring the next generation of global leaders in Japan.
